St. John the Baptist is a Roman Catholic church in New Bedford, Massachusetts, part of the Diocese of Fall River.

St. John the Baptist parish was founded in 1871 and is the oldest Portugese parish in America and the second oldest catholic parish in New Bedford.
The first church,dedicated in 1875, was later destroyed by fire. The present Romanesque style church with Byzantine elements was built 1913 to the designs of Boston architect Matthew Sullivan.[1]
